- At the scene: 60% of the bodies were identified through positive fingerprint matches with FBI databases
- Two were previously fingerprinted for naturalization into the United States in 1954
- Five were previously fingerprinted during their service in the Air Force, Army or Navy
- Six for employment purposes during WWII
- Two were government employees
- One requested that the FBI retain his fingerprints for identification purposes.
- 14 remaining bodies were unidentified by fingerprint analysis. All were identified by relatives
